Artist Statement from the owner:
My passion for photography and making art is a journey that I feel will never be completed. When I started taking photos for my high school journalism department around eight years ago I was immediately drawn to capturing the way that the light paints the earth around me.
When I begin to think about my vision for life, I often conjure thoughts about how I was selected to bear witness to this time period with my lens. In order to grow and learn as individuals, we must place ourselves in new positions and areas that are unfamiliar. From a historical standpoint, I want to be able to pull up my files and photographs years from now and remember the times and the trips that I went on, the relationships that I formed and the people that I met. The camera grants me the ability to chemically and digitally preserve the moments that are in front of me.
As a photographer, I have the responsibility to share these exposures to encourage a new level of appreciation and invoke a love for the world that we live in. A photograph must be made in order to grasp emotions that are indescribable. The camera is the best way to express beautiful moments within our world.
My practice continues to evolve––as I experiment with different stylistic approaches, my interest in everyday moments of life on earth remains the same.
